Global soybean production to rise 6.4% in 2013/14

02/03/2014  --
Global soybean production will rise to 288.3 million tonnes (MT)
in 2013/14, up 6.4% from 270.8 million MT in 2012/13, said the
International Grains Council (IGC) in its new supply and demand table on
Jan. 30. IGC raised forecast of the combined soybean production from
three major exporters to 234.3 million MT, including 54.5 million MT
from Argentina, 90.3 million MT from Brazil, and 89.5 million MT from
the United States.

Global soybean trade in 2013/14 is estimated to rise
to 108.2 million MT, up 11.5% compared to 97 million MT in the previous
season. IGC sees soybean exports at 10.6 million MT for Argentina, 45.9
million MT for Brazil, and 40.7 million MT for the United States.

With the anticipated larger soybean crops and larger
supplies, IGC forecast world soybean crush to increase to 252.9 million
MT, up 7% from 236.3 million in 2012/13. Soybean stockpiles are
expected to reach 28.8 million MT by the end of 2013/14 season, up from
25.8 million MT in the previous season.
